Founded and hosted by homeschooling parents, the group is an opportunity for families that homeschool to collaborate, share materials, and learn together. The first session will meet at the library on February 7th, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm, and participants are welcome to join every Wednesday!

Join us on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 6 to 7:30 pm for meetings of the Library Ensemble, a community band led by Sam Zimmerman! We recommend this program for ages 16 and up.

People of all ages and walks of life are invited to bring their individual quilting, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, weaving, felting, and/or fiber-and-textile craft projects to the Fort Plain Free Library for each weekly gathering of the Creative Textile Fibers Group. Bring a project to work on and share.

Join host Colleen Harris for a friendly group dedicated to crochet and good books! Colleen has taught beginner crochet lessons at several libraries, and is able to accommodate all skill levels (she does ask that participants in this group be over age 18). Join us for our latest evening storytime program, led by Ryann Young! Each session features stories, games, crafts and songs for children ages 3 and 4 (a little older is okay too). Please note that space for this program is limited, so preregistration is required. Call the library at 518-993-4646 to register!

Local history lovers are invited to join us in the Local History Room as we share memories, family histories, vintage photo albums, post cards, memorabilia, scrapbooks, and more.   Join us at the library for our next book discussion pick: Paulette Jiles’ award-winning novel “News of the World”! Copies of the book are now available to borrow at the library, and the discussion will he held here at 2 pm on March 14th!
