Transform an old book into a work of art as mixed-media artist Julie Takacs conducts a six-part Altered Book workshop series at the Fort Plain Free Library.

Each session, Takacs will walk participants through the steps for deconstruction and reconstruction of a book into their own personal masterpieces using mixed media techniques and a variety of art materials including paint and fabric.

Takacs teaches & conducts workshops at Mapletown Studio in Canajoharie, NY.

She is also an adjunct professor of Graphic Art & Design at SUNY Cobleskill & works part time as a graphic designer for Lee Publications.

The exploration of nature and ecology continues to be a strong theme in her work.
